During law school I worked for the Innocence Project. The Innocence Project is an organization dedicated to exonerating the wrongfully convicted. While there, I witnessed horrific injustices. I came to understand the various reasons why innocent men get mistakenly convicted by well-meaning juries. For example: lying/mistaken witnesses, shoddy police work, and most frequently of all, bad lawyering. I cannot prevent all of the injustices in this world, but I can stop the ones that I know about.
